| I put this page together to post images captured by my recently aquired SBIG - STV CCD Guider / Imager. Frankly, I bought the STV for guiding 35mm and 6x7 imaging setups, and didn't expect to get much out of this as an imager. But these first images, taken on seven nights the month of May-2001 from a badly light polluted back yard, and the images I have seen posted recently by other STV'ers have proven the STV to be promising for low resolution images of many types of objects. I certainly have a great deal to learn about CCD imaging. But, I look forward to spending many hours with the STV honing skills as I try to seek out what ever I can with it. For those wondering if CCD is right for them.... I think the STV could go a long way toward answering the question. I am observing a lot more now than I have in the past, because I can stay at home under much less than ideal conditions and still see the faint fuzzies with relatively little fuss - What's more, so can my family, friends and neighbors!  |
